Consistently tasty fish and chips. The chips are cooked to perfection and the fish has a lovely crispy batter. The staff are always friendly too. One suggestion to improve even further…maybe have the vinegar in something other than a spray bottle, as this does not dispense enough vinegar on the chips. less
Myself and my partner just had fish and chips!. The chips were awful the batter was soggy and the fish was horrid we had to throw it in the bin! We paid £27.00. Not sure what is going with Blue Ocean because when the took over they started off well but never will I go back there again. They don't even deserve 1 point. less
I ask you which chip shop in this modern 24 hour society closes at 21.00 well the answer is simple Blue Ocean Fish & Chips, But here is the clever bit you don't make this obvious you leave the doors open, you leave the lights on and you leave a sign proudly displayed to the left of the front door proclaiming you to be open. Heaven help some poor individual who wanders in in hope of being fed despite all the indications that they are open for business. The poor unfortunate is rudely referred to the not very obvious displayed opening hours. The simple fact is there are many better places to go. I made the mistake of going out of my way to visit this restaurant to be met with this appallingly poor customer service. I will not make this mistake again and if you have any sense you will do the same, avoid this shambles of a business!!!! Food: 1 less
My mother and I went here for my birthday because our favourite cafe was shut that week. Very disappointing. There was a television that for some reason was blasting out a Ukrainian news channel at a high volume, we had to ask them to turn it down. What was this for? I ordered for my mother a regular fish without batter and a piece of bread. She got a fish WITH batter, and chips, no bread. For myself I ordered a large fish, chips, and curry sauce. I got a regular fish, a TINY amount of chips, and a miniscule dish of curry sauce, which I paid nearly £3 for. Two hours later I was hungry again. Absolutely pathetic, and really overpriced. £12 for a large fish! Just the fish, with nothing else! less
